So, I and Anish celebrated our first Lohri as a married couple and it was amazing. We invited all our family and friends, hosted a dhol evening around the lohri (bonfire) followed by dinner on the cold winter night.
Lohri marks the end of winter season and is a traditional welcome of longer days and sun's journey to the northern hemisphere. Lohri is celebrated with a bonfire and that is exactly what we did.
To jazz up the celebration and add that extra element of entertainment, we arranged for Dhol wala's so that everybody can shake a leg.
It's a ritual for married couples to take 7 phera's (rounds) around the Lohri fire while dropping Kachi lassi (mix of milk and water ) as they go, so we did that.
Also, like everyone else, we dropped the mixture of popcorn, peanuts and revri in Lohri and late distributed the leftover as prasad.
