Forest Decor Themed Engagement

Hello Guys,

I recently got engaged and Oh boy! What a journey it was to arrange the ceremony of dreams. I know I wanted to go for a forest themed decor with a lot of leaves, wooden crates and boxes, mesh and floral photobooth and some pops of white flowers here and there. I and my finance Anish found the best people who brought our Love Forest themed engagement to reality and wanted to share some pictures with you!

As we were hosting our engagement ceremony in Shangri-La, Connaught place, they gave us a list of the Decorators on their panel and we got in touch with 2 of them. Anush likes to meet the people rather than having a telephonic meeting so we went to see one of the Decorations ' Rustling Leaves'. I began explaining to them what I had in mind and the couple totally got what I was talking about.
They popped up some pictures of their previous work and they were a lot like what I have in mind.

We discussed everything from overhead arch designs to table centrepieces and entryway. They guided us with how to set up bar and what number of roundtables and couches we need. And we ended up finalising everything.
We had a close gathering of 130-150 people and had 3 of the halls of Shangri-La. We decided to have lunch set up in pre-function area so that we can have all the space available for seating, DJ and Bar.

Along with leaves, twigs and wooden crates, we were asked to pick the color of flowers to go with it. We picked white as we wanted to keep it elegant. For our chair bows, we picked a peach color as it was really pulling everything together.

Below is the Scope of work that our Decorators worked on:

1. Glass Door - gate arch design with twigs- Entryway is the first things guests notice and I wanted something grand but still elegant that welcomes guests and gives them a little feel of what our entire theme is about! Our overhead arch was a mix of twigs, leaves and flowers.

2. Easel stands with crates & boxes- Both I and Anish wanted our friends and family to know how dear they are to us. We wanted every single person to feel at ease, so went for an easel with a message that was directly from our heart. Surrounding that was wooden crates and boxes surrounded with flowers.

3. Photo booth - Mesh with flowers-  We wanted a photo booth but nothing crazy. We went for a mesh photobooth with peach flowers to match the decor inside. Also, we made sure lighting on photobooth was good so that guests could go crazy taking selfies.

4. Table Tops - White lace - 9 pcs- I love the delicate lace fabric, it looks really elegant and makes a mask without taking away from rest of the decor, so went for lace tablecloths.

5. Chair bows - Peach all chairs- Because we had to add some color to the decor so we went for peach chair pows, they were going perfectly with my lace tablecloths.

6. Dinner Table arrangements - Wooden Logs (with LED candles )- For my centrepieces, we went for the wooden log with LED candles (real candles are not allowed in Shangrila) and a hint of baby's breath flowers.

7. Lounge sets - 4 Pcs three seater sofas and 2 coffee tables- Venue gives a sofa set but it was a not going with our theme, plus it looked really old so our decorators gave us lounge set with coffee table to create a lounge area near the stage for family to sit comfortably and watch what is happening.

8. Stage Backdrop - For our stage, we went for 18ft with running flowers on the top and center greens with white flowers. The stage was totally the highlight if our entire function. It had the right amount of green and flowers. The backdrop photographed beautifully.

9. Beige carpet for the stage with the white rug - To keep the theme going we asked to add a white fur rug on stage.

10. white sofa for the couple with single seaters- For stage, we got a white leather sofa, one double seater and two single seaters along with a coffee table.

11. Bar - artificial flower backdrop - We wanted a good bar but did not want to spend much on it so decided to go for silk flowers instead of real. The peach flowers and mesh went very well with photobooth and chair bows.

12. Leather quilted bar front- I always thought bar comes with a front panel but it doesn't. So we went for leather quilted bar front panel that matched lounge set perfectly.

13. LED Lights to uplight the decor: Although hall in Shangri-La had really good lighting, bit LED's are needed to light up the decor. Our decorators provided very nice LED's that gave a dreamy look and photographed very well.

All the real flowers used by Rustling Leaves team were fresh, artificial flowers were really high quality, crates and other decorations were well maintained and LED lights were in perfect working condition. Rustling Leaves team handed over the decorated venue to us before time and were around throughout the function in case we need any changes or needed help to move furniture. We just loved working with them.
